지난 번 도어 몰딩과 마찬가지로 셔윈 윌리암즈 듀레이션 페인트로 부엌 벽도 칠했다.
We painted our kitchen wall with Sherwin-Williams Duration.
선택한 색깔은 TIMELESS WHITE. 어쨌든 하얀색 계통으로 가고 싶었는데 완전히 하얀색은 너무 추워보일 것 같았고, 우리의 나무 상판과 잘 어울릴 수 있는 웜톤으로 고른 것이다.
The color we picked was TIMELESS WHITE. It was hard to choose what kind of white I wanted but definitely didn't want any cool tone colors. I wanted to give our kitchen kind of a warm tone so it could get along with our butcherblock countertop.
새로운 페인트 캔을 딸 때 그렇게 기분이 좋을 수가 없다.
특히 섞으면 섞을 수록 본연의 색깔이 나올 때 엄청 신기하면서도 그 색감에 빠져든다.
I get so excited when I open a new can of paint. When you see the color after stirring the paint, it feels like you're falling into the paint.
벽 페인트의 시작은 항상 가장자리부터이다.
내가 붓으로 가장자리를 페인트칠하고 나면, 남편이 롤러로 안을 메꾸어준다.
I always start painting by cutting in.
Once I cut in one section of the wall, my husband fills that area with roller.
부엌이 작기도 작았고 캐비넷과 타일로 거의 가려져있어서, 페인트칠할 벽 범위가 그렇게 많지 았았다. 그래서 큰 롤러 대신 캐비넷 페인트를 할 때 사용하던 작은 붓으로 칠했다.
There wasn't too much surface area to paint becasue our kitchen is pretty small and most of the wall is covered by cabinets and backsplash. That's why we used a small roller that people usually use for painting cabinets.
보통의 붓이나 롤러가 닿기 힘든 곳은 플랫 페인터를 사용하였다.
처음 사용해본 거였는데 꽤나 만족스러웠다.
We also used a flat painter for a tight space.
It was the first time we used it and it worked very well.

짜잔~~ 총 두번의 코팅으로 끝낸 우리 부엌이다.
색깔이 아카시아 상판과 너무 잘 어울리는 것 같다. 완전 부드러운 느낌이다.
사실 처음에는 하얀 벽에 익숙해져있다가 벽이 약간 누래지니까 좀 당황하긴 했었지만, 이제는 확실히 따뜻한 느낌이 드는 것 같아 좋다.

The color goes with our butcherblock countertop so well. It makes the whole kitchen so soft and cozy.
Honestly, the yellowish color felt a little weird at first becasue I was used to the crisp white primed wall for too long, but now I love the the warm tone.
