셔윈 윌리암즈 듀레이션으로 도어 몰딩 페인트하기 Door Moulding paint Sherwin Williams Duration Semi-gloss

부엌에 있는 도어 몰딩들을 새로 페인트했다. 

어느 페인트를 사용할까 고민했었는데, 유투브에서 셔윈 윌리암즈 듀레이션이 꽤 보이길래 나도 한번 써보기로 했다.

 

I painted the door mouldings in my kitchen. 

It was hard to choose which paint to use for the mouldings but I've seen some people use Sherwin Williams Duration paint in their Youtube videos, so I decided to go for it too.

 

색깔은 매장에 가서 보통 트림 페인트로 많이 하는 하얀색으로 달라고 했다. 그리고 대부분 트림은 광이 나게들 많이 하니 나도 세미글로스로 선택했다. 

 

I asked for a white color that people usually use for trim at a Sherwin Willams store and chose semi-gloss for the sheen.

 

나중에 포스팅하겠지만, 부엌의 벽도 듀레이션으로 페인트했는데 아주 마음에 든다. 듀레이션이 항균 물질도 포함되어있고, moisture resistant technology로 습한 환경에서 사용하기도 적합하다고 한다. 그래서 나중에 화장실 페인트할 때도 듀레이션을 사용할 예정이다. 

 

I will post about painting my kitchen wall later, but I also used Duration for that, and I'm very satisfied with it. Duration has anti-microbial agents and its moisture resistant technology is good for moist enviroments. Therefore, I'm also planning to paint my bathroom with Duration later.

 

보통 트림을 페인트할 때 사람들이 가장 많이 걱정하는 부분이 브러쉬 마크인데, 이거는 페인트를 잘 고르는 것도 중요하지만 브러쉬를 어떻게 사용하느냐에 따라서도 많이 달라진다.

 

People usually worry about brush marks when paintng trim. It sometimes depends on what paint you use, but you can still reduce these brush marks by using the brush correctly.

 

첫째로 브러쉬에 페인트를 너무 많이 묻히면 안된다. 적당량이라는게 면적이 얼마나 되느냐 어디에 바르느냐에 따라 다르지만 트림의 경우 브러쉬를 페인트 캔에 반 정도 담근 다음에 양면의 페인트를 캔의 입구 부분을 이용해 다 긁어내는 정도면 적당한 것 같다. 너무 적게 묻히면 커버가 잘 안되지만, 차라리 많이 묻히는 것보다 적게 묻혀서 여러번 페인트하는게 낫다고 본다. 

 

First, you shouldn't use too much paint. The right amount of paint depends on what you are painting on or how big the surface is, but for trim, mostly you just dip half of the brush into the paint can and scrape off the excess paint on both sides of the brush. If you use too little paint, the coverage is not going to be good. However, many coats with too little paint is better than one coat with too much paint.

 

 

두번째로, 페인트를 마무리할 때는 위 사진 처럼 브러쉬를 세워서 길게 한번 더 쓸어주면 좋다.

 

Second, it's always good to stroke with the narrow side of the brush before finishing.

 

정말 브러쉬 마크 하나~~~도 없이 바르고 싶다면 셔윈 윌리암즈 라인 중에 듀레이션 말고 에메랄드를 추천한다. 그게 아무렇게 발라도(?) 브러쉬 마크 없이 정말 잘 발린다고 소문은 자자하더라. 근데 가격이 너무 비싸서 나는 살 엄두도 못 냈다. 

그래도 나는 듀레이션에 만족한다. 젖었을 때는 브러쉬 마크가 좀 보여도 마르고나면 꽤 레벨링이 되었다.

 

If you don't want to leave any brush marks, I also recommend using Sherwin Williams Emerald paint. I heard that one gives you a really smooth finish, but it was too expensive for me to buy. I'm pretty pleased with my Duration paint. It looks like it left some brush marks when it was wet but it leveled pretty well after drying.

 

나는 총 두번 코팅 후에 바로 설치했다.

 

I installed the door trims after two coats.

 

못으로 설치한 뒤, 구멍은 스패클로 패치한 후 다시 듀레이션 페인트로 그 부분만 터치를 했더니 별로 티가 안났다.

 

After nailing down the door trims, I patched the holes and touched up only thoes areas with Duration. 

 

새로 싹 페인트하고 나니 아주 깔끔하니 좋다.

트림 페인트로 셔윈 윌리암즈 듀레이션은 꽤 괜찮은 것 같다.

 

I'm really satisfied with my newly painted door trims.

In my opinion, Sherwin-Willams Duration works pretty for painting trim.
